This week starts on Sunday with Moon in Gemini — still New — involved in a t-square with Chiron and Saturn, and on the verge of going void of course. The void of course Moon can see you feeling aimless or adrift in a sea of uncertainty, while the aspects to Saturn and Chiron can put a damper on your mood. It can see you questioning the meaning of life — your life in particular.
As a result of these transits, you may find yourself in a bit of a funk; be wondering if you have done enough or accomplished enough or made a big enough impact on the world. This aspect can manifest as an existential crisis, and can generally make things seem a lot more bleak than they really are.
It doesn’t take long though before the Moon moves into Cancer and by the time the day is over on Monday, we’ll have seen it sextile the Sun and trine Neptune. These lunar aspects are mostly, calm, gentle, patient and soothing. We shouldn’t have any trouble shaking off the unrest brought about by the Saturn / Chiron aspect, and settling into a more relaxing mood.
On Tuesday, the asteroid Vesta moves into Leo, with the Moon joining in later in the day. As Vesta is the goddess of home and hearth, and Leo is the sign related to creativity and self-expression, this combination is good for surrounding yourself with loved ones, and making time for play. You may feel like making changes around your home: putting your unique and personal touch into the design.
While Vesta moves through Leo — until the middle of July — you’ll hopefully experience some favorable and comforting interactions with friends and family members. This is also a good transit for entertaining in your home. Why not plan for a party or invite guests from out of town? These are good options for satisfying the Vesta in Leo promise.
Mercury goes stationary direct on Wednesday, still in close conjunction to Uranus (which was exact late last week). After having been retrograde for the past few weeks, this change in direction can be a welcome relief. But it will take some time (until the 21st actually) to cross its shadow point and fully leave the retrograde behind.
The Sabian symbol for the degree Mercury turns direct is: “A double promise reveals its inner and outer meanings.”Remember that Mercury and Mars are in mutual reception, which makes this image all the more relevant, as Mars is currently moving through the dual sign of Gemini.
On Thursday, the Sun sextiles Neptune, which can increase your sensitivity to outside influences and leave you feeling more susceptible to psychic impressions. You may feel like lounging around the house rather than rushing out and taking part in any social activities.
This transit can help you start to wind down your work week on a mellow note. It’s a good time to pay attention to your dreams, meditate, get in touch with your creativity and heed your inner voice.
Friday’s Sun / Jupiter inconjunct reminds you not to overdo it, as this aspect has a tendency to go over the top. It can have you feeling so expansive and gregarious that you end up biting off more than you can chew or promising more than you can deliver. The combination of enthusiasm and benevolence can get you thinking you can do more than you really can. And while your heart may be in the right place, your inability to follow through can get you into hot water.
This aspect is known for over-indulging, over-extending and over-committing. In other words overdoing everything. You may be feeling so jovial and so overconfident that you have a hard time reigning in it and exercising any real discipline.
We wind the week down on Saturday much the way we started it, with the Moon (this time in Virgo) back in a t-square with Saturn and Chiron. This can be a melancholy aspect, but don’t let it ruin your mood. Remember that lunar transits are fleeting and that their effects rarely last for more than a few hours. We have much to look forward to next week and throughout the remainder of the month of May.
That’s it for this week, see you next week!
