Virgo New Moon Card Reading: Results

As promised — here are the results for the Virgo New Moon Card Reading that was posted on August 30th.

If you haven’t had a chance to pick a card, run over to our Facebook Fan page and select one before you read any further. You can also select a card from the original New Moon reading post.

This month’s results are posted below. These cards reveal your specific message for the Virgo New Moon that takes place on Thursday, September 1st at at 9:03 UT (5:03 am EDT).

This New Moon — which is also an Annular Solar Eclipse — occurs at 9° Virgo 21. The Sabian Symbol for this degree is: “Two heads looking out and beyond the shadows.

The following cards represent nine different areas of focus. They’re tied to the Moon’s conjunction to the planets on the day of the New Moon or as she moves through her 28-day lunar cycle, as well as Jupiter’s ingress into Libra.

Symbols that have already been used in previous months have not been included here.

Here are the interpretations for each of the positions, starting with card 1:

card-1Card 1 — Moon conjunct North Node Rx:

If you picked this card, the energy of the Moon conjunct the North Node will resonate with you during this lunar cycle. This aspect occurs on September 1st at the 13th degree of Virgo.

Moon / Node conjunctions are always prominent during eclipses, which ties this month’s Solar Eclipse to the energy associate with this card. The Sabian Symbol for the 13th degree of Virgo is “A powerful statesman wins to his cause a hysterical mob.”

There were scores of contemporary rabble rousers to choose from for this symbol, and here’s one of my favorites: this is Harvey Milk campaigning in the streets of San Francisco.

Moon / Node aspects refer to inciting change in the world.  As the Moon represents the public and the Nodes represent fate, this aspect marks the onset of important world changes.

Harvey Milk’s contributions to this ideal are still reverberating throughout our culture. He became a martyr to his cause, and coincidentally, transiting Saturn was conjunct this degree on the day his life was cut short.

Remember that the Nodes are always in opposition to one another, so this aspect automatically opposes the South Node. It signals a need to put the outdated ideals behind you and focus on where you are going from here.

This month may see you focusing on writing, speaking, advising or counseling others. You may also be called upon to champion for others: those who are less fortunate or whose own voices have been silenced.

The most important message for you to take away from this is the need to let your voice be heard. Stand up for what you believe in, and don’t be afraid to take on a leadership role, even if it goes against status quo expectations.

card-2Card 2 — Moon conjunct Jupiter and Mercury Rx

If you picked this card, the energy of the Moon conjunct Jupiter and Mercury, which will take place at the 29th degree of Virgo on September 2nd.

The Sabian Symbol for this degree is: “A man gaining secret knowledge from an ancient scroll he is reading,” which is so perfect for this particular conjunction.

With Mercury (the planet associated with communications and ideas) conjuncting Jupiter (the planet associated with benevolence, good will and generosity) coming together in Virgo, the focus is on researching and uncovering”new” information, which may turn out to be not so new afterall.

This symbol speaks of bringing esoteric knowledge forward for those who are seeking it. The Mercury / Jupiter configuration reinforces that symbol, with the emphasis on retracing the past (Mercury retrograde) in order to gain a deeper understanding of the messages you receive.

This month is going to be a period of deep thinking, studying and researching for you.You may be thinking about going back to school or embarking on a whole new spiritual journey.

But Mercury / Jupiter / Moon in Virgo is also about imparting your wisdom to others. It’s about being of service to others (Virgo) and delivering your message with kindness and sensitivity (the Moon).

It’s time to put your fears about not having anything important to say to rest. You may find yourself taking on the role of both student and teacher this month. And the message for you is one of taking what you’ve learned — as well as what you already know — and finding an outlet to share it with others.

card-3Card 3 — Moon conjunct Venus

If you picked this card, the energy of the New Moon and Venus will resonate with you during this cycle. This aspect occurs on September 3rd at the 5th degree of Libra.

The Sabian Symbol for this degree is: “The ideals of man abundantly crystallized.

This symbol indicates the potential for seeing your dreams and visions made manifest. It speaks of reaching for your highest ideals and aspirations, with complete faith in the Universe answering your call.

This symbol speaks of tapping into psychic realms and inviting a touch of magic into your existence. With respect to the conjunction to Venus, it can bring in vivid and meaningful insights that rise up from the unconscious (dreams) and manifest in your waking moments.

The Moon / Venus conjunction refers to an appreciation for beauty, grace, harmony and love. As Venus is currently in the sign it rules (Libra), it also represents a desire for perfection, which is mirrored in the imagery of this card.

This month you may be seeing your “wildest dreams” start to become real. But that doesn’t mean you should sit back and wait. The Venus / Moon conjunction speaks of visualizing your purest ideals and aspirations and then taking the necessary steps to make them manifest.

The message for you is one of aligning yourself with your heart’s desires and keeping yourself on track to see them to fruition. This symbol is not only about the potential for achieving the things you set your sights on, but for taking the initiative to transcend whatever obstacles may stand in your way.

card-4Card 4 — Moon conjunct Saturn

If you picked this card, the Moon conjunct Saturn will resonate with you during this cycle. This transit occurs on September 8th at the 11th degree of Sagittarius.

The Sabian symbol for this degree is: “The lamp of physical enlightenment at the left temple.

The Moon / Saturn conjunction indicates a need for discipline and structure, especially regarding your emotions. If your feelings have been “all over the map” in recent weeks, you may be looking for an opportunity to go off somewhere on your own and quiet your thoughts.

This symbol speaks of taking on a serious quest toward spiritual enlightenment. The Universe may force you to go it alone (as is so befitting of the Moon / Saturn conjunction). But that’s only because this is an important undertaking which may require you to distance yourself from mindless distractions.

The lamp of enlightenment at the left temple seems to represent the insights that can be gained from accessing the left brain: logic, analysis, rational thinking.

The Moon / Saturn conjunction understands that wisdom comes from within and that each of us has our own internal guiding light. This aspect reminds you that every moment represents progress and brings you one step closer to your personal evolution.

The message for you this month is one of turning inward and heeding your own inner light. It’s not enough though to just go by what you feel (Moon). You’re going to have to work on balancing logic and emotion if you want to make the most of this powerful transit.

card-5

Card 5 — Moon conjunct Mars

If you picked this card, the energy of the Moon conjunct Mars will resonate with you during this lunar cycle. This aspect occurs on August 12th at the 4th degree of Sagittarius.

The Sabian Symbol for this degree is “Pelicans, disturbed by people, move their habitat.” This symbol fits the Mars archetype with respect to its need to take action to resolve whatever challenges it faces rather than succumbing to fears.

You may have been feeling like an outsider in recent weeks or that your personal space has been in some way. As a result, you may be feeling the need to distance yourself from others, whether literally or figuratively.

If this is the case, make sure that removing yourself from an uncomfortable equation is less about “running for cover” than it is about taking charge. This symbol speaks of doing what’s best for you and your loved ones.

In general, the Moon / Mars conjunction represents energy and action. It can also be impatient, aggressive or reckless, so be mindful of how you activate this energy.

You may be struck this month by the realization that you’ve outgrown your present environment. Whether this refers to your living situation, your job, or your relationships, it may become necessary for you to make a move.

The Pelican in this image may be scouting out new locations or he may be looking back toward the life he’s left behind. Whichever way this manifest for you this month, remember what’s most important: establishing a comfortable and welcoming environment for yourself and all you hold dear.

card-6Card 6 — Jupiter entering Libra

If you picked this card, the energy of the Moon moving into Libra will resonate for you during this cycle. This is the onset of a new 12-year cycle that continues until August of 2028.

The Sabian Symbol for the 1st degree of Libra is: “A butterfly made perfect by a dart through it.” It brings to mind images of individuation, timelessness and beauty in imperfection.

It also speaks of of capturing important moments in time and preserving them for eternity.

The downside of this symbol is the potential for placing too much emphasis on appearances: being too caught up in how things look and too focused on the flaw.

Jupiter at this degree (as with Venus there last week) invites you to see the beauty in all things and to embrace it in yourself. It invites you to acknowledge your own flaws and imperfections as the very things that make you unique.

The butterfly is seen as a symbol of metamorphosis and transformation. It also represents “luck,” something Jupiter is very familiar with.

The message for you this month is to see yourself on the verge of an important new cycle. Major changes are afoot for you, whether they happen over time or they happen all at once. The key is to see yourself as that imperfect butterfly: a work in progress, ever growing, changing and transforming.

card-7

Card 7 — Moon conjunct Pluto Rx

If you picked this card, the energy of Saturn turning direct and squaring Venus. This aspect occurs September 11th at the 15th degree of Capricorn.

The Sabian symbol for this degree is “In a hospital, the children’s ward is filled with toys.

How fitting this symbol is, on the anniversary of one of the greatest tragedies in our nation’s history, as it represents coming together in the face of challenging circumstances to focus on healing and taking care of one another.

With respect to the Moon / Pluto conjunction, it can be incredibly cathartic but it’s not for the faint of heart. There’s probably no combination more attuned to the suffering of others. But it’s generally accompanied by a crisis: one that awakens the desire to put yourself in the line of fire and do what must be done to make a difference.

This transit can be somewhat harrowing, but as can be seen in the imagery of this card, the remedy for healing is to funnel your passion (and compassion) into selflessly attending to those who need it most.

This symbol refers to the opportunity to see things from a different viewpoint, thus bringing you a whole new perspective. You may be called upon needs aside, and in doing so bring joy and happiness not only to those who may be suffering but into your own life as well.

card-8Card 8 — Moon conjunct Neptune Rx

If you picked this card, the energy of the Moon conjunct Neptune Rx will resonate with you during this lunar cycle. This occurs on September 15th at the 11th degree of Pisces.

The Sabian Symbol for this degree is: “Men seeking illumination.” It refers to the quest for higher knowledge and wisdom. It speaks of seeking out the truth and striving toward a heightened state of awareness.

This symbol speaks of reaching up to the “heavens” toward spiritual enlightenment. It’s about divine inspiration that is pursued collectively but experienced personally.

The Moon / Neptune conjunction continues along this theme with its emphasis on intuition and perception. It is dreamy, idealistic and imaginative. It’s a natural visionary with innate psychic abilities and a desire to merge with a higher power.

There’s a gentle, ethereal quality associated with this conjunction that can render it somewhat fragile. Because of this, it’s important to create a sacred space for you to when you’re feeling overwhelmed.

This is a time of pursuing a spiritual path and for seeking out inspiration. Whether you’re joining together with others or are experiencing a spiritual awakening on your own, remember that this is about merging with — rather than separating from — the Source.

You may experience profound psychic insights or instances of synchronicity and deja vu during this time. You may also find yourself having vivid dreams and premonitions. Pay attention to signs and symbols during this period as they’re likely to be meaningful for you.

card-9Card 9 — Moon conjunct Chiron Rx

If you choose this card, the energy of the Moon conjunct Chiron Rx will resonate with you during this lunar cycle. This aspect occurs on September 16th at 23rd Pisces.

The Sabian Symbol for this degree is “A materializing medium.” This aspect is tied to the Full Moon Lunar eclipse which also takes place on that date.

This is an interesting symbol for this placement, considering that the Moon is “occulted” during an Lunar eclipse and this symbol speaks highly of delving into psychic realms, esoteric ideas and the occult.

With respect to the Chiron conjunction, compassion for others is emphasized. And especially because Chiron is in Pisces and retrograde the theme of tapping into the collective unconscious and becoming a conduit (or “medium”) between worlds is emphasized.

This should be a period of heightened awareness for you, particularly with respect to spiritual and psychic realms. You may find yourself receiving messages from “the other side” and be called upon to relay those messages to others.

The message for you is to be open to messages — to learn to trust your intuition and be able to discriminate between what is a valid psychic impression and what is not.

Whether you decide to reveal what you feel to others or not. pay attention to the messages you receive — as well as your dreams and observations — as they may hold special meaning to you later on.
