Tarot Card of the Week – May 27 – June 2
The Fool
In the old Mythic Tarot (and the new version as well) The Fool is depicted as the God, Dionysus, child of Zeus and a mortal woman named Semele, a princess of Thebes.
He is the God of the Grape Harvest, the God of Parties, wine making, theater and fertility.
In this picture we see Dionysus taking a risk or just about to jump off a cliff. He is invincible, nothing can touch him.
When Dionysus was just a child, Queen Hera tried to kill him, but Zeus rescued Dionysus beating heart and transformed the child in the underworld making him be reborn to the world.
The Fool in the Tarot is actually a very exciting card. It shows you have the highest potential possible in your life at this moment, when you see this card.
You have the potential to reach a state of renewal or new beginnings and when you see this card you can rest assured that your creativity, and problem solving will be at an all-time high.
This card shows that anything can happen, to expect the unexpected with joy and embrace the change. It’s about living life to its fullest with excitement and expectation.
As a one card reading, The Fool shows a need to set forth on a new journey, to prepare to take risks and to embrace this new beginning in your life. This card is all about personal development and adventure, so don’t be afraid to jump into the deep end of the pond, because everything will fall into place for you.
When you see this card you should take a “leap of faith” and trust the universe will unfold the way it’s supposed to and will support you on this new path. The Fool lives a carefree life without worry or anxiety knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt that what he wants will become a reality.
When you are presented with The Fool, you may want to reflect on whether or not you need to make a choice about something. The choice must be made wisely and your movements or decisions must be made with a straightforward decision, don’t turn back, take the jump.
Because with the Fool you can believe in yourself and follow your heart no matter how foolish the impulse may be. When you see this card have faith and believe the universe is taking you in the right direction.
If you have fear in your life, this card is an excellent one to meditate on, because it shows Dionysus with no fear whatsoever of what may be, the smile and joy in his eyes let you know that all is right with the world. Creativity is high and you will come up with a creative solution to any problem you may have.
The Fool is the spirit of who we really are. We approach life with wonder, amazement and awe. We are a curious bunch (as far as humanity goes). And although we don’t know what the future will bring, we blindly go forward just as Dionysus does in all his endeavors. Use this card today as inspiration to take a chance in your life. It’s going to be worth it in the end.
This weeks’ card comes from the original Mythic Tarot by Juliet Sharman-Burke and Liz Greene.
This version, illustrated by Tricia Newell and distributed by U.S. Games is no longer available.
A newer version — the New Mythic Tarot — is still in print.

If you love collecting bronze statutes, these have a sort of magical quality to them. Dionysus is a well designed statute, 11 inches tall. Made with cold cast bronze, the definition and the intricate details of this piece are simply breathtaking. The hand-painted color accents and antique finish further add to the depth and richness of the artwork. The photo does not do justice.
The special production process of this piece, originated from Great Britain, uses actual bronze powder mixed in the cold cast resin in order to ensures a richer, more life-like presentation. This piece has a substantial feel to it. It is much more beautiful in person and is heavy for its size. The bottom is furnished with felt for the protection of your furniture. Simply put, this is very much a Class Act Quality Product.
