Setting boundaries is necessary in both personal and business relationships. It can be hard to set boundaries but if you don’t, after a while it can take a toll on your own personal happiness.
How many times have you heard someone say they feel as though they are being taken for granted?
This may be a problem you have in your own life. It happens to many people in both their personal and business lives, but there is a solution and you can begin to turn it around by setting boundaries.
This has always been very hard for me to do myself, and the root of it for me is because I don’t like telling people no. While that’s great for those that know this about me, it really has caused me a lot of stress in both the personal and business areas of my life. I was able to make many changes by setting boundaries in my business practices, but am still a work in progress on setting boundaries in my personal life.
Spotlight Reader of the Week – Ms. Yvonne
This Week’s Featured Reader is Ms. Yvonne. She received her abilities at a very young age having been passed down to her by her maternal great grandmother and paternal grandmother. She started her spiritual journey in her early twenties, and has been on a constant quest to further her gift.
She has been doing readings and spiritual counseling for over 25 years. In the early 90’s, she began to question her abilities; she had to be sure she was actually getting the messages and not just projecting her own thoughts. She was fortunate enough to find a wonderful teacher who helped her reaffirm her true ability. In 2003 she became an ordained minister through the Universal Life Church.
The messages she delivers to you are always honest and truthful, just as she receives them. She only asks that you be open to receiving them. She will only ask your name and date of birth, however, if you have a specific question you would like addressed, please let her know.
Tarot Card of the Week: Nine of Pentacles
Tarot Card of the Week: April 24 – April 30, 2017
Nine of Pentacles
Nine of Pentacles, the card of the week, comes from one of my favorite decks, the Deviant Moon Tarot by Patrick Valenza.
The deck was given to me as a gift. At first look of the box, I wasn’t sure I would like it but felt a pull to open it and now I use it a lot in my readings.
If you should be lucky enough to have the Nine of Pentacles come up in the present or future of your reading, it can mean something good in a monetary or material situation is coming your way.
Looking at the picture on the card, you see an independent and confident woman taking a walk with her little pet. There are pentacles dropping down around her indicating good things are coming to her.
The Nine of Pentacles represents The Lord of Material Gain, the element of Earth, the direction of North and the Season is Winter. The Zodiac signs are Taurus, Capricorn and Virgo. Dark grapes are the herbal associated with the nine of pentacles. Dark grapes are good for your blood, high in iron and the leaves are often used in astringents. This card usually signifies monetary / material gains. It can come from unexpected sources like an inheritance, winnings, settlements or monetary gifts.
Spring Cleaning: Home, Garden, Body and Mind
Spring Cleaning, oh no it’s that time again. Time for spring cleaning the house from top to bottom. Of course, it’s also time to get the weeds out of the yard and garden to get it ready for spring planting.
Since you are decluttering your home and garden, it may be a good time to do the same for your body and mind. Let’s face it, we all make New Year’s resolutions but how many of us actually follow through with them.
Spring cleaning is a time of ridding ourselves of the old sludge and making way for new things and new beginnings. It’s time for new growth.
Spring cleaning the house means getting into every nook and cranny. Washing the winter season from the windows, blinds and curtains. We clean the carpets, clean out cupboards and closets.
Tarot Card of the Week: Ten of Cups
Tarot Card of the Week: Dec 12 – Dec 18, 2016
Ten of Cups
Ten of Cups is the card for this week and I’m using one of my favorite decks, Crystal Visions Tarot by Jennifer Galasso.
The picture on the card of the loving mother cuddling her sweet baby close to her while the father wraps his arms around his beautiful family truly shows the meaning of the Ten of Cups.
The Ten of Cups represents The Lord of Perfected Success. Its element is Water, the season is Summer and the direction is West. The Zodiac signs are Pisces, Cancer and Scorpio.
The ten of any suit in the Tarot, especially with the Ten of Cups, is always a good card. It will be a sign of new growth and better things to come as you move forward.
The Ten of Cups depicts a happy card, happy family, happy life and also true friendships. It’s a card of joy and peaceful fulfillment.
In your Career, the ten of cups will mean you’ve reached a level of respect for your good work. That doesn’t mean you can just kick back and relax, but keep working toward your goal of where you want to be for success.
Online Affairs, Cheating or Innocent
Online affairs, is it really cheating or just innocent conversations? I guess it depends on who you ask.
For me, I believe it’s a form of cheating but not everyone would agree. Of course, if you are the one having the online affairs, I’m sure you might say it’s just innocent conversation.
There are always two sides to every story, let’s explore both and see what you think.
According to Wikipedia, the definition for an affair is: An affair is a sexual relationship, romantic friendship, or passionate attachment between two people without the attached person’s significant other knowing.
Tarot Card of the Week: Eight of Wands
Tarot Card of the Week: Oct 10-16, 2016
Eight of Wands
The card I’ve chosen for this week is the Eight of Wands from one of my new favorite decks, Paulina Tarot, by Paulina Cassidy.
I love the softness of her drawings, but am pulled in by the unique designs. The young lady on this card, a combination of Victorian and Mystical, seems to be rushing along but has her feet on a wand to keep her balanced.
The general meaning of this card is swift action over short periods of time. News, communications, phone calls and letters, usually messages coming fast. It can also refer to air travel. If this card is in reference to a person, it is often someone that is connected to a love of nature, gardening and flowers. It signifies hope of a change for the better.
Since this card indicates fast moving energy, it also means you may need to harness that energy so it doesn’t get out of control, but instead keep a good balance.
The eight of wands represents The Lord of Swiftness. Its element is Fire, the season is Spring and the direction is South. For the Zodiac, it represents the fiery signs of Leo, Aries and Sagittarius.
The herb is Sassafras which was used medicinally for healing wounds, acne, urinary disorders and to bring down fevers. It is also used in the making of beer and tea. The number Eight, while often referred to as a number of career and finance, also shows us from the shape, to mean balance.
Romance: Vital To Every Relationship
Romance is vital to a relationship, it can ebb and flow but not always easy to keep going. Remember in the beginning of the relationship, you both did romantic gestures for each other. Over the years it seems that the romance has taken a back seat to your everyday life. Most couples feel there just isn’t time or some feel now that we are fully in the relationship, romantic gestures aren’t really necessary. Well, I’m here to tell you no matter how long you’ve been together or whatever else you have going on in your life, it’s time to kick the romance back into the relationship. It will help to keep your relationship alive and healthy.
Senior Dating: Where Do You Begin?
Senior dating, where do you begin? That’s a good question and one I hear often from my clients looking to get back out there.
Dating has changed so much since most of us seniors were even thinking about it, let alone having to start all over again.
Personally for me, I was 50 when I got remarried and to be honest, I wasn’t looking to date or get married at the time. Actually, I had just told my friend I was tired of the dating thing and would probably just get a puppy to keep me company.
It can really be hard to even know where to begin, especially if you were married for many years or in a long term relationship. Divorce, passing of a spouse or life-long partner, whatever the reason, it doesn’t get easier. It’s especially hard if you were in an abusive marriage or relationship, or your partner cheated.
It takes a lot for you to trust again. It’s not any easier if you were in a loving marriage or relationship and your partner passed away. I’ve heard many widows and widowers say they feel like they would be cheating if they were to get into dating or even remarried. Your friends and family keep telling you to get back out there but they have no idea you don’t even know how or where to begin.
Tarot Card of the Week: The Hierophant
Tarot Card of the Week: June 27 – July 3, 2016
The Hierophant
The Hierophant is the fifth card of the Major Arcana. This card, from the traditional Rider Waite Tarot, depicts a stoic man on a throne between two pillars.
He is wearing a crown, with one hand raised as if giving a blessing. In the other hand is a staff, sometimes referred to as a cross or holy trinity. At his feet appear to be two people seeking his wisdom or blessing.
According to the dictionary, the word Hierophant comes from the Greek, meaning an official expounder of rites of worship and sacrifice. In tarot, he is often referred to as The Pope, the Magnus of Eternal Rulership and is associated with Taurus.
It may seem odd the Hierophant represents Taurus the bull since it is often represented by a holy man. However, since his main purpose is for balance and grounding, it makes more sense.
Afterlife – Real or Just What We Want To Believe
Afterlife, is it just something we want to believe or does it really exist?
For some people it is a given, they feel their loved ones have passed over to a beautiful place where their spirit is set free. For others, since they can’t really see it, they don’t believe it exists.
Of course, then there are those that would just say we die, that’s the end.
While some say there is scientific proof, others claim there is no way it can be proved.
Communication, A Vital Part of Every Relationship
We all know that communication is a vital part of every relationship, but do you really know the meaning of the word, communication.
According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, the correct meaning of communications is: “the act or process of using words, sounds, signs, or behaviors to express or exchange information or to express your ideas, thoughts, feelings, etc., to someone else”.
What is doesn’t mean is just talking or texting to each other.
Most couples will tell you they talk to each other, but I have to wonder how many actually listen, hear or understand what the other person is trying to convey.
There are many ways to communicate, some good and some bad. Do you know the difference? The best way form of communication is always face to face, but even that can fail if you aren’t really listening, hearing or just paying attention.
Let’s take a look at some things that might hinder or cause a lack of communication.
