As promised — here are the results for the Aries New Moon Card Reading that was posted on April 5th.
If you haven’t had a chance to pick a card, run over to our Facebook Fan page and select one before you read any further. You can also select a card from the original New Moon Reading post.
This month’s results are posted below. These cards reveal your specific message for the Aries New Moon that takes place on Thursday, April 7th at 12:23 UT (8:23am EST).
The Sabian symbol for this degree — 18° Aries 04 — is: “A “Magic Carpet” of Oriental Imagery.” This is a powerful symbol that refers to the process of disseminating information to others as well as absorbing it ourselves.
This symbol is relevant for all of us as we’re all affected by the lunar cycle. The card results below provide nine additional Sabian symbols which may be more personally relevant for you (depending on which card you selected).
They refer to the Moon’s conjunction to each planet as she moves through her 28-day lunar cycle. As the Moon / Pluto conjunction is at the same degree this month as it was last, it was not included in this set.
Here are the interpretations for each of the positions, starting with card 1:
Card 1 — Moon conjunct Uranus
If you picked this card, the energy of the Moon conjunct Uranus will resonate with you during this lunar cycle. This aspect occurs on April 7th at 20° Aries 19.
The Sabian Symbol for this degree is: “A Pugilist Enters the Ring.” This symbol speaks claiming your personal power and having the courage and confidence to fight for what you believe in.
When was the last time you stood up for yourself or took on a challenge that previously had you ready to throw in the towel? Now is the time to meet your opponents head-on, knowing that whatever it is you’re so passionate about needs you to lend it your voice.
This is not the time to let your fears or insecurities hold you back. It’s time to let the spotlight shine on you and to show those who may have expected you to fail that you’re ready to take home the prize.
With respect to the Moon / Uranus conjunction, there’s an air of rebellion and nonconformity present in this aspect. But it’s not about fighting for fighting’s sake. It’s about fighting for something worth fighting for, rather than cowering in fear.
There’s nothing about this aspect that speaks of bullying or force or aggression. This energy is focused and driven, and dedicated to making a difference. So if you’re going to stand up and fight for something, make sure it’s something you believe in. Take on a cause or stand up for those who can’t stand up for themselves. As Uranus is all about progress and innovation, getting involved in something that can make your neighborhood, your community or the world at large a better place for all is a good place to start.
Card 2 — Moon conjunct Mercury
If you picked this card, the energy of the Moon conjunct Mercury will resonate with you during this lunar cycle. This aspect occurs on April 8th at 4° Taurus 45.
The Sabian Symbol for this degree is: “A Widow at an Open Grave.” It represents a need to put to rest certain things that you may have been holding onto or that you may still need to give a proper burial to.
If you are dealing with a loss in your life — perhaps you are still grieving over a loved one who’s passed over, or perhaps it’s a loss of a different sort (a relationship, a job, a dream that’s not going to see the light of day) — now is the time to think about putting it to rest, with honor and dignity.
At the same time this is an “open grave” and offers newfound insights into what it means to experience a loss and still go on. Your own experience may be very recent, leaving you with fresh open wounds that will take time to heal. But there’s a sense of also a fresh and new, leaving your own sadness still so raw and vulnerable. But there are certain things that can be let go of now — such as past hurts and grievances, regrets, etc. — that can facilitate your own healing.
With respect to the Mercury conjunction, this aspect refers to gaining new insights, communicating your feelings to others, and receiving messages from beyond. Pay attention to those messages: whether they are real or just “wishful thinking,” they can bring comfort that helps you along in this process.
Mercury will turn retrograde during this cycle (on the 28th, at 23° Taurus 35.) The retrograde may see you retracing your path and reliving some of your earlier memories This is an important part of the process so embrace it rather than resist it. Remember that these things take time and that a time the insights you gain through this experience will only make you stronger.
Card 3 — Moon conjunct Jupiter Rx
If you picked this card, the energy of the Moon conjunct Jupiter will resonate with you during this lunar cycle. This aspect occurs on April 17th at 13° Virgo 57.
The Sabian Symbol for this degree is “An Aristocratic Family Tree.” This symbol speaks of gaining a deeper understanding of where you’ve come from and recognizing the impact of the relationships in your life on where you find yourself today.
It reminds you of the countless connections and interactions in your family makeup and of the legacy that you yourself will be passing on. You may be asking “who am I?” and “how have the seeds that have been planted throughout my life led me to this moment in time?”
Perhaps there are family relationships that need to be tended to, resolved, or repaired. Perhaps you’re thinking about your own contributions to your children or to those who will be one day asking those same questions.
With respect to the Moon / Jupiter conjunction, there’s an emphasis on gaining a philosophical understanding of your roots.
This isn’t about judgment or blame. It’s about seeing the interconnections between family members and how each of them have contributed to the makeup of the rest. It’s about honoring your legacy — the good, the bad and the ugly. But as this is an Aristocratic family tree, you may find yourself taking pride in your heritage and assuming a more dignified role in your own life.
With Jupiter currently retrograde (and retrograde through the entire month of April) this is a good time to think about retracing your footsteps, whether that means through your family or through other relationships in your life. You may be thinking about researching your own family tree or about gaining a deeper understanding of those on whose shoulders you stand.
Card 4 — Moon conjunct North Node
If you picked this card, the energy of the Moon conjunct the North Node will resonate with you during this lunar cycle. This aspect occurs on April 18th at 19° Virgo 51.
The Sabian symbol for this degree is “A Caravan Of Cars Headed To The West Coast.” This symbol speaks of exploring new horizons. Moving to a “better place” either literally or figuratively. This is not a journey you would take alone though. The caravan portion of this symbol represents a desire to go with like-minded people, to share your views with others.
As the Nodes are naturally retrograde (and this particular conjunction is no exception) perhaps rather than traveling to new location, you’ve been longing for the comforts of home — of your past, your childhood or for a simpler time.
With respect to the Moon’s conjunction, remember that the Nodes are always in opposition to one another, so this aspect automatically opposes the South Node. This signals a need to put the past behind you and to place some distance between where you are heading and what you are leaving behind.
The South Node is tied to past life karma and the challenges that you’re bringing forward into this lifetime. The North Node represents lessons you are learning this time around as well as the progress you’re making toward your own evolutionary process.
With the Moon conjuncting the North Node, you want to be thinking about where you are heading in your own personal karmic journey. You want to be thinking about building new relationships with those who share your vision for a better world. And you want to be clearing the path for those who will come behind you.
Card 5 — Moon conjunct Mars Rx
If you picked this card, the energy of the Moon conjunct Mars will resonate with you during this lunar cycle. This aspect occurs on April 25th at 8° Sagittarius 31.
The Sabian Symbol for this degree is “A Mother Leads Her Small Child Step By Step Up A Steep Stairway.” This symbol speaks of guiding those who may not be as competent or experienced as you are toward higher spiritual and philosophical realms.
This conjunction occurs in Sagittarius, the sign associated with higher mind ideals. And it happens on the same degree that Mars turns retrograde (earlier in the month). So some of this energy may be related to reconnecting with your own inner child and then guiding him or her toward higher planes.
This Symbol speaks of taking on a leadership role, but not in the sense of assuming an authoritative role. It is a shared journey as seen in the imagery of this card. And remember with Mars retrograde there’s some sense of retracing your steps and repeating a journey you have taken before.
The Moon / Mars conjunction is all about energy, action and adventure. It’s about being on the verge of something new and exciting, knowing that the anticipation is just as exhilarating as the adventure itself. How fortunate it is that you can share this adventure with someone else, someone who can open your eyes to things you hadn’t seen before.
If you’re planning a trip or thinking about going back to school or embarking on a Spiritual journey, you want to embrace the experience with the innocence and wonder of a child, absorbing it all for the first time.
Card 6 — Moon conjunct Saturn Rx
If you picked this card, the energy of the Moon conjunct Saturn will resonate with you during this lunar cycle. This aspect occurs on April 25th at 15° Sagittarius 37.
The Sabian symbol for this degree is “Seagulls Fly Around A Ship In Expectation Of Food.” This degree speaks of the need to rely on others for sustenance, which can take on many forms. It can relate to feeding on information or ideas.
There is some risk here of being caught up in a situation where you’re too reliant on others. And there are possibilities of being seen as looking for handouts or trying to take the easy way out.
But this symbol can also represent a symbiotic relationship as well: while the gulls may be looking for handouts, they can also alert the ship’s inhabitants to areas that are rife with fish.
With respect to the Saturn conjunction, Saturn is retrograde for the entire month of April. So there may be some aspects of returning to those who have offered you sustenance in the past.
You may feel the need to reach out to your parents for help this month, or you may find yourself reconnecting with old friends. A trusted group of friends or a support network may reach out to you to offer shelter from the storm.
But this isn’t about reverting to past behaviors. The Moon / Saturn conjunction understands that life really is a journey and that while you may not be able to leave your past behind entirely, you still have to forge ahead. This aspect reminds you that every moment represents progress and brings you one step closer to your destination.
Card 7 — Moon conjunct Neptune
If you picked this card, the energy of the Moon conjunct Neptune will resonate with you during this lunar cycle. This aspect occurs on May 2nd at 11° Pisces 37.
The Sabian symbol for this degree is ” An Examination of Initiates in the Sanctuary of an Occult Brotherhood.” This symbol indicates a desire to put what you know to the test — whether this is in a formal sense (such as preparing for certification or a college exam) or in a more personal sense, as in independent studies.
There are esoteric and mystical connotations associated with this degree, especially as it is tied to Neptune. Neptune is associated with spiritual realms, as well as psychic insights and intuition.
This conjunction occurs in Pisces, the modern ruler of Neptune. It is dreamy, idealistic and imaginative. It’s a natural visionary with innate psychic abilities and a desire to merge with a higher power.
There’s a gentle, ethereal quality associated with this conjunction that can render it somewhat fragile. Because of this, it’s important to create a sacred space for you to when you’re feeling overwhelmed.
This is a time of pursuing a spiritual path and for seeking out inspiration. Whether you’re joining together with others or are experiencing a spiritual awakening on your own, remember that this is about merging with — rather than separating from — the Source.
You may experience profound psychic insights or instances of synchronicity and deja vu during this time. You may also find yourself having vivid dreams and premonitions. Pay attention to signs and symbols during this period as they’re likely to be meaningful for you.
Card 8 — Moon conjunct Chiron
If you picked this card, the energy of the Moon conjunct Chiron will resonate with you during this lunar cycle. This aspect occurs on May 3rd at 23 ° Pisces 57.
The Sabian Symbol for this degree is: “An inhabited island.” It speaks of finding your own personal paradise, wherever you may be. It indicates a need to work well with others and to delegate responsibility without losing sight of what brought you together in the first place.
There are some aspects here of being so aligned with a small group of friends that you disconnect from everyone else. Of shutting out the rest of the world in favor of those you are enmeshed with.
But there’s also a vibe of cooperation and collaboration here. Carving out a niche for yourself and for those you hold dear. And creating your own world where only those you want to interact with are invited.
The Moon / Chiron conjunction expands on this theme with an emphasis on compassion for others, as well as an ability to make sacrifices for those who may need your support.
With respect to this symbol, you may be planning a trip or heading out on your own island adventure. If this is the case make sure you are among friends and be open to allowing new people into your circle.
You may be surprised to learn that you have something to offer aside from fun and companionship. The Moon / Chiron conjunction says that you may be able to use your own pain to bring comfort and healing to another. You can not only put yourself in someone else’s shoes, you can offer insights and support to those who need it through sharing your own life experiences.
Card 9 — Moon conjunct Venus
If you choose this card, the energy of the Moon conjunct Venus will resonate with you during this lunar cycle. This aspect occurs on May 6th at 7° Taurus 37.
The Sabian Symbol for this degree is “A Sleigh without Snow.” This symbol speaks of making preparation to move ahead rather than actually taking flight.
There is an ornate beauty seen in this card. From the outside it looks almost pristine. There’s a sense of pride (notice the Lion poised at the front) an elegance seen in the way this sleigh is displayed.
But there’s some danger in getting stuck in your own complacency rather than taking steps toward setting things in motion. You may be waiting for something to happen rather than taking the reins yourself.
With the Moon and Venus on this degree, this is most likely tied to your relationships. In what ways have then become stagnant? They may appear to be perfect on the outside — much like the beautiful sleigh in this card — but are not moving forward at a rate that you’re comfortable with.
You may feel that the time is not right to move forward. That conditions are not yet in favor of making a move. But there’s a risk here of letting opportunities pass you by or of being so caught up in “waiting mode” that you become too used to standing still.
With the Moon and Venus in Taurus — a sign they are both dignified in — the lesson here is to figure out ways to improvise or to find a reasonable solution to any setbacks you encounter. This conjunction is not only about the potential for finding love. But for taking the initiative to transcend whatever obstacles that threaten to stand in your way.
